Ottawa Trip

Wed Aug 15, 2007, 8:16 AM
Hello to whoever is reading this. My first journal entry, what a pivotal moment in my life. *pauses to revel in the importantness*. Anyways, I guess I will tell you guys about my fieldtrip to Ottawa. So I had to be at school at like, 7:30 in the morning (major bummer considering I'm normally asleep at that hour still). Anywho, the bus ride took two hours. To keep myself from falling asleep, guess what I did. I started re-reading book seven. It's amazing the kinds of stuff I missed the first time around. And I have to say something. Until this year, I never much liked George, but after reading the book a second time, I've convinced myself that he's now awesome.

Anyways, because I'm rambling, as I now realized, I will continue. So, in the morning we went to the National Gallery of Canada to see some paintings (I am taking an art class, right?). i was actually a bit disappointed by the fact that we couldn't see the Renoir exhibit, but still I enjoyed myself. I found a picture on which to write my report, and it just sort of inspired me. It's like the report flowed from me naturally.

So, after our 3-hour museum tour was finished, we all got back on the bus to go for lunch/shopping. We went to Byward market, which is basically a shopping/eating district in downtown Ottawa. I went into this store called Neon, after much coaxng by my friend (Merlin love her, but she knows no limit to her spending), and I was so excited. I found like this goldmine of Emily the Strange stuff on sale. Emily the Strange merch is hard to find at times in Montreal, let alone on sale. So, given this luck, I pulled out the debit card and totally bought everything Emily the Strange. Oh, and Nadya, guess what? I bought chocolate! Tanzanian chocolate 75% cocoa. I'm actually eating some now (pops piece into her mouth)

Yeah, so then, on the ride back home we watched some movie about the artist Gustav Klimt. He's one of my favorite painters of all time, so it was really interesting to see how nutty he is...

So that's pretty much it. Love to hear from you all. Later gators!
